Welcome to Wellington Professional Toastmasters Club

Wellington Professional Toastmasters Club (WPTC) was initially formed by a dedicated group of half a dozen Toastmasters in July 2009 who identified a niche in Wellington for a Toastmasters Club which focussed on delivering a supportive environment for modern young professionals to develop themselves in a quality atmosphere which encouraged them to excel at communication and leadership.  The club was designed as a dinner club in an upmarket location - the Corporate Spaces in Rydges Hotel in Featherston Street, Wellington.

The club quickly grew and reached charter strength in early 2010, formally chartering on 10 May 2010.  The development of club members in the formation stages saw the club achieve Distinguished Club status in its first month and a half, ensuring it received the Toastmasters International Award for the year ending 30 June 2010.  WPTC moved from strength to strength and was the first club in District 72 (New Zealand) to achieve all 10 of the Distinguished Club Programme points.

While the club does have a focus on maintaining a focus on educational development and achievement, this has not detracted from providing the club with a vibrant culture and an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere.  It is a club with a firm foothold and a strong following.  Visitors are welcome to come and check out the club themselves at any of our meeting held fortnightly on Mondays from 5.30pm (meeting starts promptly at 5.45pm) and running through until 8.30pm, with a half hour dinner break for a delicious $20 buffet dinner (please bring money for this) at 7pm for networking.  You can find out more details on the dates for our upcoming meetings at our website - http://www.wptc.co.nz

We look forward to meeting you there.
